Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of construction projects to ensure compliance with city codes and specifications
- Review engineering plans and blueprints for accuracy and feasibility
- Document inspection findings and prepare detailed reports with photographic evidence
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city officials to resolve compliance issues
- Issue permits and enforce corrective actions for non-compliance
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and project documentation
- Provide technical guidance to construction teams and stakeholders
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of construction inspection experience
- Valid Indiana Inspector Certification (ICC preferred)
- Strong knowledge of municipal construction codes and safety standards
- Proficiency in inspection software and documentation tools
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
- Valid Indiana driver's license with clean record
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
