Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of construction projects to ensure compliance with city codes and regulations
- Review engineering plans and blueprints for accuracy and feasibility
- Document findings in detailed reports and maintain accurate project records
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city officials to resolve compliance issues
- Investigate citizen complaints related to public works projects
- Prepare and present findings at public hearings and committee meetings
- Utilize GIS mapping software for project documentation and analysis
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection experience or equivalent education
- Valid Oregon Class C Driver's License with clean driving record
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and GIS mapping software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interpret technical blueprints and engineering specifications
- Knowledge of local building codes and OSHA regulations
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and traverse construction sites
