Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of public works projects including streets, sewers, and water systems
- Verify compliance with city codes, safety regulations, and project specifications
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments
- Investigate citizen complaints related to public infrastructure
- Assist in plan reviews and permit approvals
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of construction inspection or public works experience
- Valid California Class C Driver's License
- ICBO Inspector Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and safety protocols
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
