Responsibilities
- Inspect construction sites for compliance with federal/state regulations and blueprints
- Document project progress through detailed field reports and photographic evidence
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and local government officials
- Review permit applications and ensure adherence to safety standards
- Conduct material testing and quality control checks
- Resolve compliance issues through formal documentation and communication
- Prepare monthly progress reports for state oversight committees
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
- 3+ years of construction inspection experience
- TxDOT Level II Inspector Certification (or equivalent)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and construction management software
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification
- Valid Texas Driver's License with clean record
- Strong knowledge of MUTCD standards and TxDOT specifications
- Ability to work in outdoor environments with frequent travel
