Responsibilities
- Inspect public works construction sites for compliance with plans, specifications, and safety codes
- Review contractor submittals and documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate project records
- Investigate citizen complaints related to public infrastructure issues
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other county departments
- Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and permit requirements
- Provide technical guidance to contractors on compliance matters
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection or public works experience
- ICBO certifications (e.g., Plans Examiner, Building Inspector) highly desirable
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and construction specifications
- Strong knowledge of California building codes and safety regulations
- Valid California Driver's License and clean driving record
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
