Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of construction sites for compliance with approved plans and safety standards
- Document violations and coordinate corrective actions with contractors
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate project documentation
- Coordinate with engineering teams to resolve technical issues
- Enforce City of New Orleans construction codes and permit requirements
- Assist in stormwater management and erosion control monitoring
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in civil engineering or construction technology preferred
- Minimum 2 years of construction inspection experience
- Valid Louisiana Public Works Inspector certification
- OSHA 30-hour construction safety certification
- Strong knowledge of municipal construction codes and regulations
- Ability to read blueprints and technical specifications
- Valid Louisiana driver's license
