Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of construction projects to ensure compliance with city codes and safety standards
- Review engineering plans and permit applications for accuracy and regulatory alignment
- Document findings through detailed reports and photographic evidence
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city officials to resolve compliance issues
- Investigate citizen complaints related to public works projects
- Maintain accurate inspection records using digital tracking systems
- Provide technical guidance to development teams during project execution
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in civil engineering or construction technology preferred
- Minimum 2 years of construction inspection or related field experience
- Valid Colorado driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 30-hour construction certification required
- Proficiency with inspection software (e.g., Accela, Cityworks)
- Strong knowledge of Denver zoning codes and building regulations
- Ability to work in outdoor environments with variable weather conditions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
