Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor for street repairs, drainage systems, and public facility maintenance
- Operate light machinery (e.g., mowers, sweepers) safely and efficiently
- Collect and dispose of waste/recycling materials according to municipal standards
- Respond to emergency weather-related infrastructure repairs
- Assist with park beautification and green space maintenance
- Follow all OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Document daily work activities and material usage
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude and tool usage skills
- Strong commitment to public service and teamwork
- Pass pre-employment background check and physical exam
- Must be available for emergency call-outs during severe weather
