Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, loaders, and street sweepers
- Assist in stormwater management and flood control projects
- Conduct infrastructure inspections and document findings remotely
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public works initiatives
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Participate in emergency response during severe weather events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Kansas Class B CDL license or ability to obtain within 60 days
- 1+ years of construction or public works experience preferred
- Ability to operate heavy machinery with proper certification
- Strong problem-solving skills for on-site troubleshooting
- Proficient with digital reporting tools for remote documentation
- Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- US citizenship or legal authorization to work in the US
