Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on public infrastructure including roads, bridges, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment safely (excavators, loaders, dump trucks)
- Assist in construction projects including sidewalk repairs, traffic sign installation, and park maintenance
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and municipal standards
- Document work progress using digital tools with remote reporting capabilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams via virtual meetings and on-site coordination
- Participate in emergency response operations during severe weather events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 1+ years construction/public works experience
- Valid Missouri driver's license and clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Proficiency with basic hand tools and power equipment operation
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in outdoor conditions year-round
- Strong communication skills with experience using remote collaboration platforms
- Basic computer literacy for digital reporting systems
- Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
