Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and material handling for public infrastructure projects
- Operate light machinery like jackhammers, tampers, and street sweepers under supervision
- Assist in road repair, sidewalk installation, and drainage system maintenance
- Maintain clean and safe job sites following OSHA standards
- Collaborate with crews to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met
- Report equipment malfunctions and safety hazards to supervisors
- Participate in emergency response operations during severe weather events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor conditions
- Basic knowledge of construction safety protocols and tools
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
- Previous public works or construction experience preferred
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Must be a US citizen or authorized to work in the US
