Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, paving, and landscaping for city infrastructure projects
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, concrete saws) safely and efficiently
- Assist in storm drain maintenance and flood prevention initiatives
- Conduct routine inspections of public facilities and report maintenance needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on environmental cleanup projects
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and city compliance standards
- Maintain accurate work logs and project documentation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction or public works preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and equipment operation
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Flexibility to work in various weather conditions and overtime when needed
