Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor on public infrastructure projects (roads, sidewalks, parks)
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, dump trucks) with proper certification
- Assist in traffic control and site safety protocols
- Load/unload construction materials and equipment
- Maintain clean and organized job sites
- Document work progress and equipment usage
- Collaborate with engineering teams on project specifications
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Illinois Driver's License
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly
- Experience with heavy machinery operation preferred
- Basic knowledge of construction safety standards
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
- Pass background check and drug screening
