Responsibilities
- Perform heavy manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling for infrastructure projects
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery including backhoes, dump trucks, and street sweepers
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of public facilities, roads, and drainage systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project completion and safety compliance
- Implement erosion control measures and environmental protection protocols on job sites
- Document work activities and maintain equipment maintenance logs
- Respond to emergency weather events for snow removal and stormwater management
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction, landscaping, or municipal labor
- Valid North Carolina Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment troubleshooting and minor repairs
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and environmental stewardship
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
