Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and material handling for infrastructure projects
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, power saws) under supervision
- Assist in road maintenance, park upkeep, and facility repairs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and department protocols
- Participate in emergency response operations during weather events
- Maintain clean and organized job sites
- Support traffic control and public safety measures during construction
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid California Driver's License with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety procedures
- Flexibility to work weekends and overtime during project peaks
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- 1+ years of construction or public works experience preferred
