Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including road repairs, sewer maintenance, and park upkeep
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, dump trucks) with proper safety protocols
- Assist in emergency storm response and debris removal operations
- Maintain public facilities including sidewalks, traffic signals, and drainage systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Adhere to OSHA and city safety regulations at all times
- Complete daily equipment inspections and maintenance logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Maryland driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Experience with hand/power tools and heavy machinery preferred
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Pass background check and physical fitness assessment
- Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime during emergencies
- Basic knowledge of blueprints and construction plans
