Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, paving, and equipment operation
- Conduct routine inspections of public infrastructure (bridges, pipelines, roads)
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, graders) safely and efficiently
- Maintain accurate digital logs and reports via remote portal
- Collaborate with engineering teams on project specifications
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and city safety regulations
- Participate in emergency response during weather-related incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic proficiency in digital reporting tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office)
- Experience with heavy machinery operation preferred
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
