As a Public Works Laborer, you'll work in dynamic outdoor environments, contributing to projects that directly impact residents' daily lives. We provide all necessary training and equipment to ensure your success and safety on the job.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling for public infrastructure projects
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, saws, compactors) under supervision
- Assist in road maintenance, drainage system repairs, and park facility upkeep
- Follow strict safety protocols and maintain clean, organized job sites
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines
- Report maintenance needs and equipment issues to supervisors
- Participate in emergency response during severe weather events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Texas Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety procedures
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Ability to read and interpret basic site instructions
- Previous construction or public works experience preferred
- Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the US
