Responsibilities
- Perform heavy manual labor including excavation, trenching, and material handling
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, asphalt cutters) safely
- Maintain public spaces (roads, sidewalks, parks) per city standards
- Assist in emergency storm response and debris removal
- Follow OSHA safety protocols and maintain clean work sites
- Complete daily equipment inspections and maintenance reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years construction/public works experience
- Valid New Jersey driver's license
- OSHA 10-hour certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly
- Availability for weekend/eergency overtime shifts
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
