Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain city-provided equipment (jackhammers, asphalt cutters, compaction tools)
- Perform manual labor for infrastructure projects including road repairs, drainage systems, and park maintenance
- Follow OSHA safety protocols with provided PPE and safety gear
- Assist in stormwater management and flood prevention initiatives
- Support emergency response crews during natural disasters
- Maintain accurate work logs and equipment inspection reports
Qualifications
- Valid Florida Driver's License with clean record
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment operation
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Experience in construction, landscaping, or municipal work preferred
- OSHA 10-hour certification within 30 days of hire
