Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and paving operations
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, power saws) safely and efficiently
- Assist in road maintenance, drainage system repairs, and stormwater management
- Conduct site inspections and maintain accurate project documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project timelines and quality standards
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and environmental compliance regulations
- Participate in emergency response operations during weather events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year of construction or public works experience preferred
- Valid Virginia driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or willingness to obtain
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction materials
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong teamwork skills with attention to detail and safety consciousness
