Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including digging, shoveling, and operating hand/power tools for infrastructure projects
- Assist in road repair, sidewalk maintenance, and park beautification across Boston neighborhoods
- Safely operate city vehicles and equipment (training provided)
- Support emergency storm response and snow removal operations
- Maintain clean and organized job sites following OSHA standards
- Collaborate with skilled tradespeople on construction and rehabilitation projects
- Complete daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance tasks
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license required
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude and tool familiarity
- Strong commitment to workplace safety protocols
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
