Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and paving for city infrastructure projects
- Operate hand/power tools (shovels, saws, jackhammers) and light machinery safely
- Maintain roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems to meet city standards
- Assist in emergency response during severe weather events
- Follow OSHA safety protocols and maintain clean job sites
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public works initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Oregon Driver's License with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions
- Basic math skills for measurements and material calculations
- Reliable transportation to various work sites
- Pass background check and drug screening
