Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, loaders, and compactors
- Assist in stormwater management and flood control projects
- Conduct site inspections and report infrastructure issues
- Collaborate with engineering teams on public improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols
- Participate in emergency response during natural disasters
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Louisiana Class D driver's license
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years construction/maintenance experience
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly
- Basic knowledge of surveying and grading techniques
- Strong problem-solving skills in outdoor environments
- Reliable transportation and daily reporting capability
