Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, graders, dump trucks) for excavation and material transport
- Perform manual labor including asphalt paving, concrete work, and drainage system maintenance
- Conduct routine inspections of public infrastructure and report hazards
- Assist in snow removal operations during winter months
- Maintain job site safety protocols and equipment cleanliness
- Collaborate with engineering teams on construction project implementation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Alaska driver's license with clean record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Experience with heavy equipment operation or construction labor
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction materials
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
