Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain city-provided heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, dump trucks)
- Perform manual labor for infrastructure projects including road maintenance and park construction
- Adhere to strict safety protocols when handling tools and machinery
- Assist senior crew members in complex construction and repair operations
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public works initiatives
- Support emergency response during natural disasters or public safety incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout shift
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of construction safety standards
- Ability to follow verbal instructions and work in a team environment
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- No prior equipment operation experience necessary (training provided)
