Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain city-provided equipment (excavators, dump trucks, jackhammers, etc.) for infrastructure projects
- Perform manual labor including digging, lifting, carrying materials, and site preparation
- Assist in road repairs, sidewalk maintenance, and public facility upkeep
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and OSHA standards at all times
- Collaborate with crew members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule
- Report equipment malfunctions and maintenance needs promptly
- Maintain clean and organized work sites
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid New Jersey driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Experience with hand/power tools and construction equipment preferred
- Must pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and teamwork
- Basic math skills for material estimation and measurement
