Responsibilities
- Operate city-provided heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, graders) for infrastructure projects
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and material handling
- Maintain and clean assigned equipment daily to ensure optimal performance
- Adhere strictly to OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Assist in road repairs, drainage maintenance, and public facility upkeep
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards
- Complete daily equipment inspection reports and maintenance logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction/public works labor preferred
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean record
- Ability to operate heavy machinery (certification training provided)
- Physical stamina to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tool usage and safety procedures
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Ability to follow verbal/written instructions and work independently
