Responsibilities
- Operate city-provided heavy machinery for excavation and grading projects
- Perform manual labor including paving, digging, and debris removal using provided tools
- Conduct routine maintenance on public facilities (sidewalks, drainage systems) with supplied equipment
- Adhere to strict safety protocols while using city-issued protective gear and machinery
- Assist in emergency response operations using specialized departmental equipment
- Participate in infrastructure rehabilitation projects with provided hand/power tools
Qualifications
- Valid California Driver's License required
- Ability to operate heavy machinery with provided training/certification
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Physical ability to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment troubleshooting
- Experience with city infrastructure maintenance preferred
- Ability to follow safety protocols for all provided equipment
