Responsibilities
- Operate city-provided heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, graders)
- Perform road maintenance, sidewalk repairs, and park upkeep
- Install and maintain public utilities (water mains, drainage systems)
- Execute snow removal and emergency storm response duties
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance
- Adhere strictly to OSHA and city safety protocols
- Assist in traffic control and public safety operations
Qualifications
- Valid Illinois driver's license required
- Minimum 1 year construction/labor experience preferred
- Ability to operate heavy machinery (training provided)
- Physical stamina for outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Basic knowledge of construction safety standards
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
