Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and paving operations
- Operate hand tools and light equipment (shovels, tampers, saws) safely
- Assist in road maintenance, drainage system repairs, and vegetation control
- Load/unload materials and maintain clean, organized job sites
- Follow all safety protocols and OSHA compliance standards
- Support emergency response teams during weather-related incidents
- Collaborate with crew leads to meet project deadlines efficiently
Qualifications
- Must be 18+ years old with valid California ID
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Availability for 8-hour shifts, weekends, and emergency call-outs
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Willingness to obtain required certifications (provided by city)
- Basic knowledge of construction safety practices preferred
- Valid driver's license with clean record (Class C minimum)
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
