Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy construction equipment, including excavators, backhoes, and rollers, safely and efficiently.
- Perform site preparation, grading, and compaction tasks for various public infrastructure projects.
- Assist in the installation and repair of underground utilities, such as water, sewer, and storm drains.
- Ensure all job sites remain clean, organized, and free of safety hazards throughout the workday.
- Follow strict OSHA safety protocols and company guidelines to maintain a zero-incident work environment.
- Communicate effectively with foremen and team members to coordinate tasks and project timelines.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B California Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- OSHA 10 or 30 Hour Construction Safety Certification (preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate).
- Physically fit with the ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret basic site plans and blueprints (preferred).
- Previous experience in construction, public works, or landscaping is highly desirable.
