Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, graders) for road maintenance and construction projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling
- Install and repair public infrastructure (sidewalks, drainage systems, traffic signals)
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and municipal regulations
- Assist in emergency response during severe weather events
- Maintain project sites through debris removal and equipment maintenance
- Collaborate with engineering teams for precise project execution
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License (Class B preferred)
- Minimum 2 years construction/public works experience
- OSHA 10-hour certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic equipment operation skills (backhoe, dump truck)
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Pennsylvania residency required
