Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and construction equipment such as dump trucks, loaders, and jackhammers.
- Perform general labor duties including excavation, grading, and filling of roadways.
- Assist in snow removal and ice control operations during winter months.
- Collect and transport refuse, recycling, and yard waste.
- Maintain cleanliness of streets, alleys, and public rights-of-way.
- Follow all safety protocols and OSHA regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
- Perform basic maintenance on tools and equipment.
Qualifications
- Valid Class C Illinois Driver's License required.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
- Physical stamina to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in public works, construction, or landscaping is a plus but not mandatory.
- Must pass a drug screen and background check.
