Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor on road construction, sewer maintenance, and park development projects
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, dump trucks, and asphalt rollers under supervision
- Assist with traffic control setup and safety protocol enforcement in work zones
- Execute trenching, shoveling, and material handling for infrastructure repairs
- Conduct routine inspections of public works equipment and report maintenance needs
- Maintain clean and organized job sites following OSHA and city regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Indiana driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment operation experience preferred
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and procedural compliance
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
