This role offers the opportunity to work on essential infrastructure projects that keep Memphis moving. You will be part of a vital team responsible for maintaining the city's roads, drainage systems, and public spaces.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including grading, paving, and operating heavy machinery such as rollers and dump trucks.
- Assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of public infrastructure, including sidewalks, curbs, and storm drains.
- Operate and maintain basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Respond to emergency situations such as snow and ice removal or flood control duties.
- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment at job sites.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all safety protocols and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding project requirements.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License required; CDL a plus but not mandatory.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects up to 50 lbs frequently.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction equipment and safety procedures is a plus.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work site.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a team.
