Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and paving operations.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and construction equipment (e.g., dump trucks, rollers, excavators).
- Install and repair underground utilities such as water, sewer, and storm drains.
- Assist with traffic control, flagging, and setting up work zones for safety.
- Maintain a clean and safe job site in compliance with OSHA and city safety regulations.
- Respond to emergency service calls and perform snow removal during winter months.
Qualifications
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly in various weather conditions.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience with heavy equipment operation or public works maintenance is a strong plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, nights, and weekends as required.
- Willingness to obtain necessary certifications (e.g., CDL, Hazmat) as required by the department.
