Responsibilities
- Operate Heavy Equipment: Safely and efficiently operate light to medium-duty construction equipment, including jackhammers, rollers, and dump trucks.
- Maintain Infrastructure: Perform essential public works duties such as pothole repair, street sweeping, concrete pouring, and sidewalk maintenance.
- Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to OSHA safety regulations and company protocols to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and your team.
- Traffic Control: Set up and maintain traffic control devices (cones, signs, barricades) to ensure the safety of workers and the public.
- Site Preparation: Assist in site preparation, including excavation, hauling materials, and cleaning work areas.
- Material Handling: Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment using proper lifting techniques.
Qualifications
- Valid Driver’s License: A valid California Class C Driver’s License and a clean driving record are required.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform strenuous physical labor for extended periods, including lifting, bending, digging, and standing in various weather conditions.
- Experience: Prior experience in construction, landscaping, or public works is highly preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Tools: Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is a plus.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and fellow team members.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
