Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and material handling under supervision
- Operate hand/power tools and light machinery after completing training certification
- Assist in construction and maintenance of public infrastructure (roads, sidewalks, parks)
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and OSHA standards at all times
- Participate in paid training sessions covering equipment operation and construction techniques
- Maintain clean and organized job sites per department standards
- Collaborate with crew members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (required)
- Valid New Mexico driver's license (must obtain within 30 days of hire)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor conditions
- Willingness to complete paid training program (approximately 4 weeks)
- Commitment to safety and willingness to follow instructions
- Basic math skills for measurements and material calculations
- Reliable transportation to various job sites across Albuquerque
- No prior felony convictions (background check required)
