Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, paving, and utility maintenance under expert supervision
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, compactors, graders) after completing training
- Assist in road repair, drainage system maintenance, and park infrastructure projects
- Adhere strictly to OSHA safety standards and city protocols
- Participate in emergency response operations during severe weather events
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to project deadlines efficiently
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid New Mexico driver's license (Class R)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly and work in extreme weather conditions
- Commitment to complete 200-hour paid training program (8 weeks)
- Basic math skills for measurement and material calculations
- Willingness to obtain CDL within first year of employment
- No felony convictions (background check required)
- Strong work ethic and punctuality
