Responsibilities
- Operate city-provided heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, dump trucks)
- Perform manual labor for infrastructure maintenance (roads, sidewalks, parks)
- Assist in emergency response projects (storm cleanup, snow removal)
- Maintain and clean assigned equipment daily
- Follow OSHA safety protocols for all operations
- Document work progress and equipment usage
- Collaborate with supervisors on project timelines
Qualifications
- Valid New Jersey Commercial Driver's License (Class B)
- Minimum 2 years heavy equipment operation experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Basic computer skills for reporting
