Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance and repairs on public infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery safely (excavators, loaders, dump trucks) under OSHA guidelines
- Conduct site inspections and document work progress using digital reporting tools
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Adhere to all safety protocols while managing hazardous materials and weather conditions
- Participate in emergency response for public works crises
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years construction/public works experience
- Valid North Carolina driver's license and clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Proficient with digital tools for remote reporting (mobile apps, cloud platforms)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment troubleshooting
