  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnosis, and repair on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components of municipal vehicles and heavy machinery.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose mechanical issues to prevent breakdowns and ensure fleet reliability.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all work performed, including parts inventory and labor hours.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all safety regulations, OSHA standards, and environmental guidelines.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Technical certification or trade school diploma in automotive or diesel mechanics preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in heavy equipment or fleet maintenance.
  • Valid Massachusetts Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a strong plus.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
