Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on public facilities, parks, and transportation infrastructure
- Operate heavy equipment including backhoes, graders, and street sweepers with precision
- Conduct safety inspections of municipal assets and document findings
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on stormwater management projects
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests during inclement weather events
- Maintain accurate work logs and inventory records for equipment and supplies
- Participate in community outreach initiatives for neighborhood improvement projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works or facility maintenance
- Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- OSHA 30-hour construction safety certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Proficiency with hand/power tools and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and safety protocols
- Excellent communication abilities for interacting with residents and team members
