Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently including dump trucks, loaders, and street sweepers
- Respond to emergency weather-related incidents (snow removal, storm cleanup)
- Conduct inspections and document maintenance activities using digital reporting tools
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on capital improvement projects
- Maintain equipment according to safety protocols and preventive maintenance schedules
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Minnesota Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake endorsement
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works, construction, or related field
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Strong mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
