Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery (e.g., dump trucks, graders) for infrastructure projects
- Perform routine inspections and repairs of city facilities, roads, and drainage systems
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations during all operations
- Document work activities and equipment maintenance in digital reporting systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during emergency response and storm recovery
- Train junior staff on proper equipment handling and safety procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
- Valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years experience in municipal maintenance or related field
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Proficiency with preventive maintenance software and digital reporting tools
- Pass background check and pre-employment physical examination
