Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate and maintain specialized equipment such as trucks, mowers, and hand tools safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency service calls during inclement weather or public safety situations
- Conduct regular inspections of municipal assets and document maintenance activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure all work complies with OSHA standards and city safety protocols
- Participate in community outreach initiatives related to public works services
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred
- Valid Missouri driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance or construction experience
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and hazard prevention
- Basic knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems and repair techniques
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in team environments
- Willingness to obtain required certifications within 6 months of hire
