Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment including dump trucks, street sweepers, and utility vehicles
- Perform preventive maintenance on municipal facilities, parks, and roadways
- Respond to emergency service requests for infrastructure repairs
- Implement safety protocols for work zones and hazardous materials handling
- Document maintenance activities and equipment usage in digital reporting systems
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and troubleshoot mechanical issues
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years in municipal maintenance or construction
- Valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
- Certification in equipment operation or heavy machinery maintenance preferred
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of Miami building codes and municipal regulations
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Clean driving record and background check clearance
