Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, drainage systems, and public facilities
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment including dump trucks, graders, and asphalt compactors
- Respond to emergency weather events (storms, floods) for infrastructure damage assessment and repair
- Conduct preventative maintenance checks on municipal vehicles and machinery
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure strict compliance with OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Document work activities and maintain accurate maintenance records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred
- Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or heavy equipment operation
- Proficiency with hand/power tools and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Valid Texas state pesticide applicator license or willingness to obtain
- Pass background check and physical fitness assessment
