Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on city facilities, parks, and infrastructure
- Operate heavy equipment including backhoes, dump trucks, and street sweepers
- Respond to emergency repairs during storms and public safety incidents
- Maintain accurate work logs and maintenance records
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety protocols
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on capital improvement projects
- Assist with traffic control and public works emergencies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid California Class C driver's license (Class B preferred)
- 2+ years experience in maintenance, construction, or equipment operation
- Certification in CPR/First Aid within 6 months of hire
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems preferred
- Successful completion of background check and drug screening
